ITANAGAR: Nearly 75,000 devotees, including sadhus from across the country, took a holy dip in Parshuram Kund in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of Makar Sankranti on Sunday. The pilgrims, mostly from Nepal, Manipur, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, had been gathering at the site since January 13, said R K Sharma, Lohit deputy commissioner, in a communique on Monday.

To celebrate the 150th Birthday of Swami Vivekananda in a grand way, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya and Rural Development Program, Vallioor organized Vivek Mithra 2012 –a Mega 5000 Suryanamaskar Program - on 24th January 2012 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Vallioor premises with the purpose to instill Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, self confidence, inner courage and service attitude in the students. Over 4000 students from 21 schools of Tirukurangudi,Dhalapathisamudram,Thiruvenkadanathapuram, VadakkanKulam,Eruvadi, Nanguneri, Panagudi, Kottaiadi and Vallioor performed;and 90 teachers and 400 people witnessed them.
Swami Vivekananda jayanti celebrated in DombivliVivekananda Kendra Dombivli celebrated Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary on Dec 12,2012. The celebrations was organised with participation of school students from 22 schools in Dombivli.
"Vivekabharatham"

"Vivekabharatham", a unique exhibition of murals depicting the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda was held at Agrashala of Paramekkavu Temple. The exhibition, organised by Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation intends to uphold life, vision and mission of Swami Vivekananda on the eve of the saint's 150th birthday.
