The report for the activities, conducted by VKRDP, during the month of AUGUST 2010 as detailed below, is submitted herewith for your kind information:
1. Through 75 Balwadis, 1,891 rural Children were nurtured. In the Balwadis, Malt, hygienically prepared highly nutritive lunch were served, with vegetables, and in the evening vitamin riched cereals were provided to the children.
Universal Brotherhood Day programme was organized on 12th September 2010 by Vivekananda Kendra's Nagpur Branch. Shri. G. G. Joshi, Maharashtra Pranta Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra and the author of the book “Dasa Mhane” presided over the function. The same book was released on this occasion. Shri Prakashji Pathak - General Secretary of the Central Hindu Military Education Society, Nasik spoke on ‘Vishwavijayacha Aatmavishwas’.
On the occasion of Universal Brotherhood Day celebration, Vivekananda Kendra, Bangalore Branch conducted interschool and College patriotic song, essay and elocution competition at 2 places. 482 school students from 16 schools and 48 college students from 4 colleges participated in this events.
Vivekananda Kendra's Guwahati branch celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 12th Sept.2010 at Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture Auditorium, Guwahati.
Special Correspondent of Indian Express Shri Samudra Gupta Kashyap was the cheif guest and NOted Gandhian and padmashree Shri Natwarbhai Thakkar was the guestof honour. About 160 invitees attended the occassion.
Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated on 13th sept. 2010. at 5.30 P.M. at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Kanyakumari.
Vivekananda Kendra vidyalaya Lamba line celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival in the school.
A brief colourful cultural programme was also presented by the school children highlighting the importance of the festival.
After the school programme students and teachers of the vidyalaya visited visited Raj Niwas and tied rakhis to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and others. The Lieutenant Governor presented gifts to all and blessed them.

Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture - Arunachal Pradesh Chapter in collaboration with Monyul Socio – Cultural Development Society, Mon region organized a three days seminar on 30th July to 1st August 2010, on topic "Traditional System change and continuity amongst Monpas.”
