This year VKNagerkoil celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day as Swami Vivekananda's 125th year of Victorious Chicago Speech to the World on Raksha Bandhan, 26th August, Sunday 2018 at Terivilai Village. 

Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Nagerkoil Branch conducted GuruPurnima programme at two places.  One at Terivilai Village in which we had the Grama Sampark during Rashtriya KPS.  Follow up of this we had yoga satra and yoga varga.

Vivekananda Kendra Branch-Changlang, Arunachal Pradesh celebrated Guru Poornima on 27th July. The guests of the program was Sri Hamjong Matcha, Tirap Vibhag Sanchalak and Sri Samee Timba, District Planning Officer,

Guru Poornima was celebrated in VKV Vallioor to honour Veda vyasa who composed the vedas. It is actually a combinations of two Sanskrit words “Gu” and “Ru” “Gu” in Sanskrit means ignorance or darkness and “Ru” means the remover of the darkness.

On the occasion of Guru poornima, a special lecture was arranged on 27.07.2018 by 9.30 a.m. entitled “Guru Mahima” by Kendra Karyakartha Shri.D.Natarajan for the students of Sundararajapuram Corporation Higher Sec., School. 450 students from classes 6 to 12 attended the function.

Asadh purnima is largely celebrates as Guru Poormina in remembrance of Ved Vyas who complied Vedas and Puranas. Vivekananda Kendra Kadapa celebrates Guru Purnima at various places.

Nanded branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari celebrated Vivekananda Jayanti as National Youth day in Kusum Sabhagrah Nanded.

श्री ज्ञानेश महाविद्यालय, नवरगांव, तहसील-सिंदेवाही (चंद्रपुर) में आयोजित स्वामी विवेकानन्द जयंती (राष्ट्रीय युवा दिन) के अवसर पर बतौर मुख्य वक्ता लखेश्वर चंद्रवंशी ने ने कहा कि कोलम्बो से अल्मोड़ा तक सम्पूर्ण भारत का भ्रमण कर स्वामी विवेकानन्द ने अपने ओजस्वी वाणी से भारत को जगाया। स्वामीजी ने ही भारत को भारत से परिचित कराया। इसलिए विश्वकवि रविन्द्रनाथ ठाकुर ने कहा कि “भारत को जानना है तो विवेकानन्द का अध्ययन कीजिए।
