Vivekananda Kendraनागपुर, जून 21 : अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में विवेकानन्द केन्द्र कन्याकुमारी की शाखा नागपुर की ओर से आठ रस्ता चौक समीप रानी लक्ष्मीबाई सभागृह में “सामूहिक योगाभ्यास समारोह” का आयोजन किया गया। इस योग सत्र में 125 लोग सम्मिलित हुए। इस अवसर पर शिथिलीकरण अभ्यास, सूर्यनमस्कार, योगासन एवं प्राणायाम किया गय

Tiwari, SH Shende ji, Bupendra ji, Bharat ji, Dr. Sanjay ji, and various other member and other citizen, Group of Youth and Childern etc.

Vimarsh on seva at suri, west bengalOn the occasion of the birth centenary of Mananeeya  Eknathji  Ranade,  a public programme Vimarsh on "Seva" was organized by the Suri branch of  Vivekananda Kendra , Kanyakumari on the 15th June at D R D C Hall, Suri, Birbhum, West Bengal. Justice [ retd.] Bipin Kumar Mukherjee formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The programme was graced by Su. Nivedita Bhide, Vice President Vivekananda Kendra , Kanyakumari.  Sri L N Mondal , former principal of Suri Vidyasagar & Sanyojog of Suri branch of Kendra presided over the programme.  About two hundred people including the officials of different social, cultural and educational organizations attended the programme. Cultural programme was performed by Smt. Pritikana Bhattacharya and her group.

From Turtles to Bio-Ethics : VK NardepThis month newsletter brings you another excerpt from our book on the biodiversity of Rameshwaram - Gulf of Mannar region. Here we present the different turtles as well as the biodiversity inherent in the corals of the region. The Gulf of Mannar region provides a very interesting heterogeneous group of flora and fauna. From this region about 3600 species have been identified. Of this, 186 species are commercially exploited, 116 are vulnerable and 7 are considered as endangered. In the case of fishes of the 2200 fish species distributed in Indian waters, 441 species have so far been recorded in Gulf of Mannar. Gulf of Mannar is one of the best regions in the Indian region in fish biodiversity richness.
