Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor, celebrated the 75th Republic Day at the school premises on January 26, 2024. A total of 650 students participated in the event.
Sri. R. Balasubramanian Ji, Officer, Fire and Safety Rescue Department, Vallioor, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sri. S. K. Subramanian ji, The Correspondent of VKV Vallioor presided over the program.
The Republic Day program commenced at 9 a.m. The celebration started with ‘Tamil thaai vazhthu’ and a prayer song. The Chief guest hoisted the national flag and all saluted the National Flag followed by a flag song.
Next, Bharatham, a classical dance performance was presented by the students, followed by a Silambam performance. Tamil and English speeches on patriotism were delivered by the students Sri. Santhosh from class XI and Kum. Madhusri from class XI respectively. Then, patriotic dance and martial art of karate were performed.
The Chief guest, R. Balasubramanian Ji, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of martial arts and patriotism. Next, the Principal, Sri. T. Muthu Krishnan ji, delivered a speech about Republic Day. The mementos were then presented to the Chief guest by the Principal. After that, sports winner prizes were distributed to the students.
The Republic Day celebration concluded with Kendra prayer and the National Anthem. Sweets were distributed to all after the program. The Correspondent, Sri. S.K. Subramanian Ji, coordinated the program.
