Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, VK Rural Development Programme and VK Thoothukudi Branch, organised Maha Shivaratri Puja on 8th March, 2024 at Thirugnana Sambandhamoorthy Madalayam in Thoothukudi, starting from 6 p.m.
The Puja was inaugurated by Smt. Subhathra Vetrivel, Nagar Sanchalak of VK Thoothukudi, and Smt. Gowri Rajasekar, Sah Nagar Sanchalak of VK Thoothukudi. Fifty-one devotees participated and performed Shivalinga puja to the Shivalinga and Nandi provided to them. Abishekam was performed on the Shivalinga during all four prahars of Maha Shivaratri.
Twelve Vedpandits conducted Rudra puja and Rudra Homam to the Mahalingeshwar. Smt. Subhathra Vetrivel addressed the devotees, highlighting the significance of the Shivaratri puja. Prasad was distributed to all the participants. The arrangements for the puja were done by the Kendra Karyakartas of Thoothukudi Nagar.
