International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant organized International Day of Yoga programs at 66 places in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, with a total participation of 3,006 people. For organizing these programs, 254 Kendra Karyakarthas were involved. The programs were organized by the following five Nagars and one Prakalph:
- Tirap: 6 program, 879 participants
- Lohit: 3 programs, 557 participants
- Siang: 4 programs, 71 participants
- Subansiri: 2 programs, 162 participants
- Imphal (Manipur): 4 programs, 43 participants
- Arun Jyoti Project: 47 programs, 1,294 participants
Highlights:
- Vivekananda Kendra karyakartha led the International Day of Yoga program organized at the Raj Bhavan of Arunachal Pradesh, graced by the Honourable Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen Sri Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd).
- Training programs were organized before the International Day of Yoga at Deomali, Pasighat, and Wakro. In Wakro, a Yoga Satra is planned as a follow-up program.
- Various programs were conducted in many institutions and public places, engaging people from all walks of life. All participants actively joined in, practicing Yogasanas and Pranayama as per the International Day of Yoga protocol.
