International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Marathahalli Karyasthan organized the 10th International Day of Yoga program in association with Karnataka RJS Institutions, Koramangala. The event took place at Koramangala on 21st June 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
A total of 176 participants from RJS First Grade College, RJS Institute of Management Studies, and RJS School attended the program. RJS First Grade Degree College coordinated the event. Aadharneeya Lalita Didi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Smt. Gayatri Gopinath was the Guest of Honour.
The program began with students from RJS First Grade College singing a patriotic song. The welcome speech was delivered by Principal Sri. Nagabhushan Reddy ji. Adharneeya Lalita Didi spoke about the importance of yoga and introduced to the participants about Vivekananda Kendra. Ms. Gayatri Akka energized the students with her inspiring speech.
Smt. Veena Didi conducted Krida Yoga, followed by a yoga practice session according to protocol. This session, which included instructions, demonstrations, and corrections, was conducted wonderfully by VKV Kallubalu students. Additionally, there was a remarkable performance of advanced yoga asanas by two school students from RJS School.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Vice Principal Sri. Rajesh ji. Smt. Jyothi extended great support as the coordinator and the sports directors.
As a follow-up, a program for Universal Brotherhood Day is planned. Smt. Jyothi and Sri. Rajesh from RJS First Grade College are committed to starting a “Youth Empowerment Cell” in association with Vivekananda Kendra to adopt the concept of Mahavidyalaya Sthan.
Additionally, a workshop on concentration for 10th standard students of RJS School is also planned as a follow-up.
