Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari celebrated Gita Jayanti at the school premises on 21st December, 2023. A total of 632 people including the students and teachers participated in the programme.
The Bhagavad Gita encapsulates the essence of the Mahabharata. To lead a noble, successful and purposeful life, studying the Gita is essential. Celebrating Gita Jayanti holds profound significance as it embodies the philosophy of our culture, organization, and work.
The event commenced at 3 p.m. with the chanting of three 'Omkars.' Twelve students from the 7th and 8th standard recited the slokas from Bhagavad Gita and that was followed by all the participants.
Mananeeya Sri Eknathji Ranade used to say, 'Opportunities are Duties.' Inspired by this, VKV Kanyakumari utilized this opportunity of Gita Jayanti to chant the slokas and seek blessings from Sri Krishna.
