A GRAND HINDU SAMMELAN AT VIVEKANANDA KENDRAM KANNIYAKUMARI
There was a celebration of 24th Convocation of Religious class of Vellimalai Ashram and Ratha Yatra of Swami Vivekananda of Ramakrishna Mission conducted at Vivekananda Kendram Kanniyakumari on 25th August 2013. There was a procession of around 30,000 people, from all over Kanniyakumari district. It started from Swami Vivekananda Mandir of seashore to Vivekananda Kendram. It was a continuous procession of 3hrs., in the sequence of Swami Vivekanandar Ratham, followed by General Secretary and Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendram, Swami Chaitanyanandaji from Vellimalai Ashram, Swami Nirmalanandaji and Swami Gowtamanandaji from Ramakrishna Mission, around 3,000 people dressed as Swami Vivekananda and public by chanting the nama of VEERA NARENDRA! VIVEKANANDA! SHARANAM! SHARANAM! GURU DEVA!
YOGA FOR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CENTRES
Vivekananda Kendra Kanniyakumari conducted 3 days Yoga way of life to Inchargers' of Primary Health Care Centres of Tamil Nadu on 6th to 8th September 2013. There were 22 inchargers participated.
WAKE UP BHARAT! RUN!!
On 11th September 2013, Universal Brotherhood Day, Wake Up Bharat! Run!! conducted at two places of Kanniyakumari district.
In the morning, at 10.30am SVSSS District committee conducted Wake Up Bharat! Run!! at Nagerkoil. It was inauguarated by Treasurer, Ma. HanumantaRaoji and General Secretary, Ma. Bhanudasji of Vivekananda Kendram Kanniyakumari . Around 700 youths were there.
In the afternoon, at Kanniyakumari Wake Up Bharat! Run!! started with Byke Rally of 200 youths following a person of Blinded Eye. It was flagged off by Swa. Chaitanyanandaji at 2.40pm. from Vivekananda College, Agasteeswaram. It was welcomed by the people on the way. The Rally Route was from Vivekananda College, Agasteeswaram, Vaduganpatru, Kottaram, Mahadanapuram, Murugan Kundram, Seashore Road, Gandhi Mandapam, Vivekanandapuram, Vivekananda Kendram and Ma.Eknathji Samadhi. When the rally reached Gandhi Mandapam, Wake Up Bharat! Run!! was flagged off and inauguarated by Aa. Krishnamurthy Annaji, Vivekananda Kendram. About 1000 youths participated. The run ended at Swami Vivekananda Mandapam with honouring the employees of Vivekananda Kendram and honouring Sri ThangaRaj who did Tri-Cycle yatra from Kolkata to Kanniyakumari.
