Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated the Mother’s Day at the school premises on 28th February 2024 from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. A total of 800 students and 90 mothers actively participated in the event. Smt. Janaki Pushpam, the Tirunelveli district Coordinator of VKRDP, presided over the program.
The purpose of this celebration was to emphasize the crucial role mothers play in a child's life and to make mothers feel appreciated. The program commenced with a prayer song performed by the students. The Master of Ceremony was conducted by the teacher Smt. S. Devi. Teacher Smt. M. Boobathi delivered the welcome address. Then, teacher Smt. P.S. Muthu Lakshmi gave a brief talk on motherhood and the sacrifices mothers make.
Smt. Janaki Pushpam, the Chief Guest and Tirunelveli district Coordinator of VKRDP, addressed the audience, highlighting the greatness of motherhood and the sacrifices mothers make. She advised students to show respect and love towards their mothers and express gratitude for all that they do to make their lives comfortable and enjoyable.
Sri. S. K. Subramanian, the school's Correspondent, and Sri. T. Muthukrishnan, the Principal, graced the occasion with their presence. Various games such as pass the ball, Lucky corner, and a cooking competition were conducted for the mothers, who participated enthusiastically. Winners were awarded by the Chief Guest, Correspondent, and Principal. Complimentary gifts and snacks were provided to all parents. The vote of thanks was proposed by the teacher Smt. M. Subbu Lakshmi, and the celebration concluded with the Kendra Prarthana.
