Vivekananda Kendra, Nagpur arranged a programme of Samuhik Suryanamaskar mahayajna on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. 2105 students from 21 schools, 1 college and 10 samskar vargas offered their salutations by performing 12 Suryanamaskars with great enthusiasm. The programme was held at the ground of Ishwar Deshmukh college of Physical Education, Nagpur. The programme started with Chanting of 3 Omkars and Prarthana followed by lighting of the lamp. Samrakshak of Suryanamaskar Mahayajna Ayojan Samiti Dr. Vilasji Dangre in his introduction expained the concept of Samuhik Suryanamaskar and its importance in our life.The vice-chancellor of Rashtrasanta Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr. Vilasji Sapkal was chief guest. He talked about the benefits of the Suryanamaskars. Special guest - MLA Shri Ganarji, through a beautiful story made children understand that individual progress has to be with the progress of the nation. "The education which makes one face the problems and find the solutions is the real education", he said. The Secretary of Nagrik Shikshak Mandal Shri Durugkarji, Principal of the college Shri Anil Karwandeji graced the occasion. Nagpur Nagar Sanchalak Shri Bharatji Joshi delivered vote of thanks. Priyamvada Pande, vibhag sangathak, presided over the function. A patriotic song 'Chandan hai is desh ki mati ... ' was sung by the children. Performance of 12 Suryanamaskars started with traditional way by blowing the conch. Each Namaskar began with the chanting of a Beeja Mantra. The programme was enjoyed by all the teachers, parents, media and the audience. The inspiring atmosphere of the programme made the children to take a resolve to perform Suryanamaskars everyday.
The whole preparation started before nearly 6 months. After initial planning, actual work of tranfering the inspiration to the children stared. 200 agresars attended 2 one day training camps. In turn these agresars trained other children of their schools. The enthusiasm was everywhere in the atmosphere. Children were eager to perfom Suryanamaskars on 12th Jan. 2012. And the result of it was the programme.
