Vivekananda Kendra Kanykumari, Jammu Branch celebrated 149th birthday of Swami Vivekananda at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra, Anand Nagar, Bohri, Jammu on 12th January 2012 from 10:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. The function was attended by 63 prominent persons of Jammu who have been inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Several youth were also present including the other participants.
Swami Vivekananda had meditated at the confluence of the three seas for three days in 1892 at the now famous Vivekananda rock in Kanyakumari. A massive memorial is now there, since 1970, due to the efforts of Mananiya Eknath Ranadeji and the Vivekananda Kendra.
