On the auspicious occasion of Kartik Ekadashi, Monday, 3 Nov.2014 evening, Vivekananda Kendra Telangana-Andhra Pradesh Prant held the first of relief programmes for those affected by the recent Hudhud cyclone. 10-litre steel water containers ['Binndelu' in Telugu] were distributed to 60 families, mostly daily wage earners and labourers in the premises of Swami Vivekananda Svachchanda Seva Samstha [SVSSS], One-Town area, Visakhapatnam. The needy families were identified by the SVSSS.
Kendra Parichay Baithak was organised on 29 July 2014 at the Panduranga Swami Temple, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. 33 people attended - most of whom were actively associated in the Swami Vivekananda Saardh Shati Samaaroh. Dr Maruthi Mohan Reddy who is co-ordinating the task of starting Kendra activities in Kadapa, initiated the discussion. Kum.Sujatha Nayak, Praant Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari Andhra Pradesh Praant, briefed the gathering about the background to and objectives of the Kendra as also the Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Shati Parva.
