On the eve of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti the Vivekananda Kendra Vidhyalaya, Tezpur tried to make its children cognizant of the contentment one can achieve by giving and urged them to give the things they don’t use anymore and yet in good condition, viz. clothes, sweaters, shoes, toys, tiffin/pencil boxes etc. The students showed sheer enthusiasm and we collected a reasonable quantity of donatives in two days. We intended to distribute the collection among some of the disadvantaged children of Baahbari Village on 5 th October, 2016.
Vivekananda Kendra Dibrugarh organized an inter schools Surya Namaskar Competition and a mass Surya Namaskar program held at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya ,Dibrugarh on the occasion of “UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY” to commemorate the Historical speech by the patriotic Hindu monk of India Swami Vivekananda at “World Parliament of Religion” held at Chicago,America on 11th September 1893. 350 attained the program.
Another year has passed, and we at VKIC continue our mission of protecting and promoting the ancient wisdom and traditions of North East India. The evaluation of the activities possibly lies not in the size and shape of them, but in identification of the core value within them.
In the midst of the rush for dissecting the differences amongst the communities, in their attire and food, minor variations in the rites and rituals, the job and mission of exploring the core unity is a challenging task. VKIC is committed to this cause.
Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Guwahati is offering a few Junior Fellowships to do empirical studies in the areas of Culture and Development of Northeast India.
Selected applicants will have to work under supervision of assigned supervisors, get involved in academic activities of the Institute and produce a publishable work. The duration of the fellowship is six months. Each fellowship carries an amount of Rs. 15,000/ per month.
