The third P. Parameswaran Ji memorial lecture will be on January 06, 2024, at Alsaj Gravity, Kazhakoottam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, organised by Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram. The topic of the speech is "Role of Bharat in Shaping a Just World Order - A Perspective for the Immediate Future", and the keynote speaker is Dr S Jaishankar, Honourable Minister for External Affairs, Govt. of Bharat.

About Shri. P Parameswaranji

Shri P ParameswaranJi was a thinker, ideologue, orator, author and poet of national fame and erudite exponent of Indian philosophy. He was awarded Padma Shri in 2003 and Padma Vibhushan in 2018. In the year 1982, he was instrumental in reviving the traditional Ramayana recital in the Malayalam month of Karkidakam. In 1993, he was invited to give lectures on Swami Vivekananda in Chicago, New York and London. In 1995, Shri P Parameswaran Ji was elected as the President of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari. In 1998, he took initiative to propagate Bhagavat Gita through Gita Swadhyaya Samithis in Kerala. In 2000, he was nominated as the member of the Court of JNU New Delhi

About Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram:

Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram which was established in 1982 as a centre for advanced research and studies aiming at national reconstruction is headquartered at Samskrithi Bhavan, GPO Lane, Thiruvananthapuram. Late P ParameswaranJi (Padma Vibhushan Awardee) is the founder director of Bharatheeeya Vichara Kendram. We regularly organize seminars, symposia and discussions on Indian history, culture, philosophy, economics, science, environment etc. Lectures by intellectuals and scholars are being periodically organized on topics of regional and national significance. Campus based programmes on Indian culture and knowledge systems are also held frequently. ICPR, ICHR and ICSSR sponsored seminars are being organized at regular intervals. We regularly publish monographs and research papers on various social and cultural issues. We have fifty local Samithis in different districts of Kerala. Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram has instituted an annual lecture series named ‘Sri P Parameswaran Ji Memorial Lecture after ParameswaranJi’s demise on 9th February 2020 to commemorate his hallowed memory. The first P Parameswaran Ji Memorial Lecture in this series was delivered by the then Vice President of India Shri Venkiah Naidu on 25th February 2021. The topic of his lecture was ‘India’s Intellectual Tradition in National Reconstruction – P Parameswaran as a Contemporary Role Model.’ The second P Parameswaran Ji Memorial Lecture was delivered by Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Honorable Finance Minister, Govt of India, on November 5, 2022. The subject of the lecture was ‘Co-operative Federalism – A Path Towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.’
