Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Guruvayur Branch, celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day at the Tourist Facilitation Centre, East Nada, Guruvayur, on 11th September 2024, starting at 10.30 a.m. A total of 80 people attended the event.
The programme commenced with the Deepa Prajwalan (lighting of the ceremonial lamp) by dignitaries: Mananeeya Dr. Lakshmi Kumari Didi, Director of Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Aadarneeya Radha Devi Didi, Dakshin Prant Sangatak, and VK Guruvayur Karyakarthas Sri Manoj Ji and Sri Harilal Ji. This was followed by three Omkars, the Shanti Path, and Aikya Mantra, led by Sri Krishnakumar Ji.
Shri Vishnu Ji, Kerala Vibhag Samparka Pramukh, introduced the dignitaries and extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Aadarneeya Radha Didi then provided an overview of Vivekananda Kendra's activities and introduced the VK Guruvayur Karyakarthas team to the audience.
A patriotic song, “Shakti Samvrtam... Yukti Samvratam... Shakti Yukti Samvrutam Bhavatu Bharatam,” was soulfully sung by Aadarneeya Priyamvada Didi and Aadarneeya Kalyani Didi.
Mananeeya Dr. M. Lakshmi Kumari Didi spoke about the significance of Swami Vivekananda’s message of Universal Brotherhood. She also expressed her happiness regarding the efforts of the Guruvayur team and offered her best wishes for future activities.
Several esteemed guests were present at the event, including Adv. Sri Ravichangath Ji, Sreekumar Ji, Dr. Majnu Ji, Sri Jack Cyriac Ji, Subhadra Chechi, and Sri Velayudan Ji from Pythrukam, a social and cultural organization in Guruvayur.
Vivekananda Kendra brochures and a book containing Swami Vivekananda's message were distributed to all participants. Sri Jyothivas Ji delivered the vote of thanks, and the programme concluded with the Shanti Mantra. After the event, all attendees enjoyed a Sadhya (traditional meal) together.
