Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch celebrated the National Youth Day and Anandalaya Annual Day at Shree Sharada Shikshana Samsthe, Hanumanalu. A total of 264 people attended, including 216 Anandalaya children, 10 Anandalaya Karyakartas, and 38 other Karyakartas.
The event was held on the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, which also marked the culmination of Samartha Bharat Parva on 12th January 2025. The celebrations was held for the full day, from 9 AM to 4:30 PM.
The morning session began with the inauguration of the Anandalaya Annual Day by lighting the lamp, done by Karyakartas and Judges. This was followed by a collective Anandalaya prayer, sung by the children and teachers of Anandalaya. The children participated in various events, including reciting Shlokas, chanting the Bhagavad Gita, performing the Anandalaya prayer, doing Surya Namaskar, singing patriotic songs, drawing, delivering speeches, and performing folk dances.
The afternoon session started with the Bhuvana Mandale song by Vasumati Amma, followed by the Swadesha Mantra by Kum. Supriya. Afterward, Prof. G. A. Chandrashekhar ji interacted with the students, sharing inspiring stories of Swami Vivekananda. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes to all the children who won in the various events.
