Swami Vivekananda, after his extensive journey across Bharat, reached Kanyakumari and commenced a three-day meditation on Bharat, sitting on the mid-sea rock on 25th December 1892. To commemorate this historic moment, Vivekananda Kendra celebrates the period from 25th December to 12th January, culminating in Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, as Samartha Bharat Parva, celebrating the strength and greatness of Bharat.
Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch, inaugurated the Samartha Bharat Parva celebrations on 25th December 2024 with events held at two venues.
At the Vivekananda Kendra Karyalaya in Jayanagar, the celebration began with a prayer, followed by the Bhuvana Mandale song led by Smt. Vasumati Amma and the Swadesha Mantra led by Kum. Supriya, Sah Nagar Pramukh. Sri Aravinda Anna highlighted the significance of the day, emphasizing Swami Vivekananda’s contributions and vision. Fifteen participants presented patriotic songs, and the program concluded with the Vande Mataram song. A total of 38 people attended the event.
Another celebration was held at Vivekananda Sabhagana, Hanumanalu. The event was inaugurated by Sri Siddegowdaji, Karyasthan Pramukh, and Sri Srinivas ji, Anandalaya Sayojak, who elaborated on the day’s significance and its connection to the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. This program also concluded with the Vande Mataram song. A total of 340 students and 20 teachers participated, making it a vibrant and inspiring gathering.
