Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari organized the Sadhana Diwas and the Concluding Ceremony of the Science and Arts Exhibition on November 21, 2023, at the Vivekananda Sabhagraham in Vivekanandapuram campus. The event commenced at 2 p.m. and drew over 1400 enthusiastic participants, including students and their parents.
The esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Sudhamathy, Ph.D., a Natural Researcher, graced the occasion, while Mananeeya Sri Hanumantaraoji, All-India Vice President of VRM & VK, presided over the event. The role of the master of ceremony was efficiently carried out by Kum. S.N. Krithika from XII B.
The event commenced with an invocation by the students of Class VIII, followed by a warm welcome address by Kum. S. Tiffany from Class VIII. Kum. L. Samiksha from V Standard, the winner of the music competition held on Children's Day performed a rhythmic folk song. Kum. K. Mary Refaya from IX STD shared insights into the significance of the day. Additionally, students of IX STD presented a melodious song dedicated to Mananeeya Sri Eknathji Ranade.
The Chief Guest addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of meditation, organic farming, and urged students to cultivate kitchen gardens. She shed light on the causes of global warming, stressed the significance of the food web and chain, and advised students to be protectors of the environment. Furthermore, she highlighted Eknathji’s dedication to the nation's well-being and concluded her address with Swami Vivekananda’s quote: “Arise! Awake!! and stop not till the goal is reached.”
Mananeeya Sri Hanumantaraoji, in his presidential address, underscored Eknathji’s ability to transform visions into reality through clear thinking, meticulous planning, inspiring efforts, and hard work. He encouraged effective time management, emphasizing that Eknathji's life showcases achieving goals through sharp time management. He concluded his speech with Swami Vivekananda’s quote: “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life — think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success, and this is the way great spiritual giants are produced.”
As part of the Children’s Day celebration, various competitions including drawing, music, quiz, elocution, and fancy dress were conducted, witnessing eager participation from students. The winners were honored by the Chief Guest, and Smt. Nithya announced the prize list. Mananeeya Hanumantaraoji presented a memento to the honorable Chief Guest. Kum. L.K. Swetha from VIII Std delivered the vote of thanks, and the celebration concluded with Kendra Prarthana.
