International Day of Yoga is celebrated with enthusiasm by all the branch centers of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari across Bharat. Through these celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra aims to bring Yoga to the general public in its true essence, i.e., Yoga as a way of life based on the vision of Oneness.
This year, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, West Bengal Prant organized International Day of Yoga programs at 32 places in West Bengal and Andaman, with a total participation of 2,137 people. For organizing these programs, 129 Kendra Karyakarthas were involved. The details of programs Vibhag-wise are given below:
- Eknath Vibhag: 20 places, 1,725 participants
- Shantiniketan Vibhag: 8 places, 119 participants
- Uttarbanga Vibhag: 2 places, 38 participants
- Vidyasagar Vibhag: 1 place, 25 participants
- Andaman (Prakapa): 1 place, 230 participants
The programs were conducted in various institutions and public places, engaging people from all walks of life. All participants actively joined in, practicing Yogasanas and Pranayama as per the International Day of Yoga protocol. In many places, Yoga satra, yoga varga, and Samskar varga are planned as followup.
