Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Programme, organized a Grand Anna Puja and Sri Sarada Devi Jayanti celebration at Paruthiyur Sri Ramalinga Swamy Math in Paramakudi on December 16th, 2023. Around 50 people participated in the programme.
Smt. Nagajyothi, Principal of PSSNJ Nadar Matriculation School, Smt. Muruga Revathy Sureshkannan, Nanal Spoken English Centre, Paramkudi and Smt. Mallika lit the lamp and inaugurated the programme.
Commencing with the Prarthana, Sister Vijayarani extended a warm welcome. Kendra Sister Nagajyothi recited the Annapurna Stotram, followed by the collective recitation of the Vishwarupa Darshan from the eleventh chapter of the Bhagavad Gita.
Sri. Ayyappan Ji, Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Rural Development Program, received the rice collected from Paramakudi and surrounding villages. Sri. S. Karthik, the Principal of PSSNJ Nadar Matric School, Keezakarai, Paramakudi, Sri. Sureshkannan, Principal, Nanal Spoken English Center and Sri. Murugan, Jnana Valipattu Manram handed over the collection of rice to Sri. Ayyappan Ji. This collection, amounting to 3370 kg, was gathered from various villages in the vicinity. Monthly, around 5 tons of rice, collected through this Pidiyarisi Scheme, are distributed to Kendra-operated balwadi children, elderly grandparents, special non-government aided schools, and math’s providing daily meals across six districts.
Smt. Chandra Gandhi Amma, Retired High School Headmistress and Kendra Well-wisher, offered Asiyurai. Sri. Ayyappan and Sister Nagajyothi delivered the felicitation addresses.
Sri. Sureshkannan, the Principal of Nanal Spoken English Center, extended the vote of thanks. As souvenirs, books were given to the well-wishers who participated in the program, and Prasad of Goddess Annapurna was distributed to all attendees.
