Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated Gita Jayanti at the school premises on 22nd December, 2023. 225 students and 50 teachers participated in the programme.
The program commenced at 11 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer. Smt. R. Sudha Priyadharshini, M.B.A., presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Selvi. Sajitha, a student from Class XI, delivered the welcome address. Following this, a senior teacher, Smt. Devi, chanted the Gita Slogan, which was then echoed by the students.
The event continued with the students presenting a delightful performance, disguised as little Krishna and Gopiyar (Gopikas), enthralling the audience with a wonderful dance. Selvi. Akila, also from Class XI, delivered a speech elucidating ‘the reason behind celebrating the Gita Jayanti function.’
A message from Maneeya Nividida Didi was translated into Tamil and conveyed to the students by Smt. Muthulakshmi. Our honorable Chief Guest, Smt. Sudha Priyadharshini, delivered a felicitation address. The correspondent of the school, Sri. Subramanian ji, presented a memento to our Chief Guest.
Expressing gratitude to the attendees, Selvi. Sahana Devi delivered the vote of thanks. The Master of Ceremony duties were proficiently handled by our student, Selvi. Sarulatha. Finally, the program concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
