Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kanyakumari, celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi from 7th to 12th September 2024 with great devotion.

Ganesh Chaturthi is a vibrant Hindu festival celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi (fourth day) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of Bhadrapada, according to the Hindu calendar. The festival, also known as Vinayagar Chaturthi, is celebrated with great devotion and grandeur at the school each year.

As part of the celebration, the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya put in dedicated efforts to create a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha. Each day, different classes took turns offering various types of prasadam to Lord Vinayaga, contributing to the daily rituals and festivities. The students also offered flowers and prasadam as part of their devotion.

On 12th September, at 11.30 a.m., the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken in a grand procession by the students to the beach at the Vivekanandapuram campus for visarjan (immersion). The celebration concluded with the blessings of Lord Ganesha, who is revered as the embodiment of Om.
