Free Medical Camps were organized in three flood affected villages in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh by Vivekananda Kendra Swasthya Seva Sadan, Tinsukia and Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh. Medical Camps were conducted at Silghat Tarani Gaon of Sadiya, Assam (28th June 2022), Nepun Majgaon of Amarpur, Assam (14th July 2022) and Ahomchuk goan of Arunachal Pradesh(4th July 2022). This is to be mentioned that Nepun Majgaon village of Amarpur is a very remote island of mighty Dibang river and our team had to cross two rivers to reach this village. A total 307 patients were examined by our medical team and free medicines were given to the patients. The camps were supported by All Mising Students Union, Sadiya Unit and All Lekang Youth and Students Union, Lekang Unit. Medicines were donated by Arogya Foundation of India, Mumbai.
This is to be mentioned that the Swasthya Seva Team of Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti is conducting such medical camps in flood affected areas since 2012 in collaboration with local community based organizations and Student Unions. Our team has a plan to organize a few more camps in flood affected areas in the first week of August.
