Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Arunachal Pradesh, organized a Free ENT Surgery Camp at Bakin Pertin General Hospital in Pasighat from December 4th to 6th, 2023. A team of ENT Surgeons and an Anesthesiologist from MENTS Hospital, Bengaluru, under the leadership of Dr. Pradeep Kumar PS, rendered their valuable and commendable services throughout the camp.
The camp successfully conducted 17 ear surgeries, significantly impacting the lives of those in need. Additionally, 120 outpatients were examined by the ENT Doctors, and free medicines were dispensed to them. Patients residing in various neighboring districts of Pasighat came to this camp and underwent treatment.
On December 4th, 2023, the camp was formally inaugurated by Sri. Kaling Moyong, the Honorable MLA of Pasighat. Notable health department officials from Pasighat were also present during this auspicious occasion. Following the inauguration, final screenings were conducted to select cases warranting surgery. Prior preliminary screenings had been performed by the ENT Doctors at Pasighat General Hospital.
A brief valedictory program on the evening of December 6th, 2023, marked the conclusion of the camp. Smt. Aini Taki Tahol, a renowned social worker, was invited as a guest for this occasion. The program involved the distribution of certificates to the participating doctors. Additionally, a beneficiary from the previous ENT surgery camp held in November 2022 shared his experience, expressing how the surgery from the previous year remarkably improved his quality of life after enduring an ear ailment for a decade.
