Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Karnataka Prant, Aanandalaya Prakalpa, organized an Eco-Friendly Clay Ganesha Making Activity on the occasion of Gouri Ganesha Chaturthi at three Aanandalaya centres — Shankaracharya Anandalaya, Mahanthalingapura; Pathanjali Anandalaya, Konasandra; and Rani Chennamma Anandalaya, Haragadde. The activity witnessed a total participation of 46 students and Acharyas.
Students from each Anandalaya enthusiastically participated in making Bhagavan Ganesha idols using natural clay. The activity encouraged creativity among the children while introducing them to an environment-friendly way of celebrating the traditional festival.
Following the activity, the students performed Pooja to the Gouri Ganesha idols with devotion. The programme meaningfully combined cultural tradition, creativity, devotion and environmental awareness among the children.
