Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, Arun Jyoti Project organized a District Level Traditional Dance and Drama Competition on 11th January 2025 at Pangin town, Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh. The event brought together participants from three circles — Kebang Circle, Jumlo Circle, and Kaying Circle—who enthusiastically contributed to the success of the program. A total of 100 attendees enhanced the vibrant and engaging atmosphere of the celebration.

The event was a celebration of Arunachal Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage, aimed at fostering unity, promoting traditional art forms, and inspiring the younger generation to preserve and cherish their cultural roots.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by esteemed dignitaries, followed by an invocation prayer dedicated to Swami Vivekananda. A heartfelt welcome address set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation in fostering harmony and building a progressive society.

Participants from the various circles showcased their talents through traditional dance forms, including Ponung, along with other captivating folk performances. The drama competitions brought folk tales to life and conveyed moral values, blending traditional themes with contemporary relevance. The performances were a visual delight, featuring vibrant costumes, rhythmic music, and expressive storytelling.

The competition was judged by a panel of esteemed experts, including Shri Tapang Jamoh Ji, Tarik Panggam Ji, and Komol Gao Ji. The themes of the dances and dramas highlighted unity, harmony, and cultural identity. The winners of the competition were honored with cash prizes of ₹25,000 (Twenty-Five Thousand Rupees) each. Kerang Gamging emerged as the winner in both the traditional dance and drama categories, a testament to their outstanding performances and dedication.

Special thanks were extended to Er. Tum Tatin Ji, who served as the Chief Guest and whose invaluable support was instrumental in the event’s success. Shri Tamuna Ji also graced the occasion with his presence and inspiring words.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the organizing team, participants, and audience for their enthusiastic contributions. The District Level Traditional Dance and Drama Competition provided a platform for young talents to shine while reinforcing the spirit of cultural pride and unity. Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Arunachal Prant, remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting cultural values and traditions, ensuring that they are cherished and passed on to future generations.
