Free Surgery Camp at Baksa, Assam

Vivekananda Kendra,kanyakumari , Assam Prant recently organized one Free Surgery Camp at Jogen Basumatary Memorial Vivekananda Kendra Hospital , Shuklai, District- Baksa, BTAD, Assam. The camp was inaugurated on 20th September 2015 by local EM (Health) Sri Ganesh Kachari. A team of nine Doctors from Mumbai under the leadership of famous Ano-rectal surgeon Dr. Mahesh Sangvahi voluntarily rendered their service for the poor and needy patients of Bodoland. They successfully conducted 63 surgeries and out of them 20 were hernia repairs. A total 11 pediatric surgeries were done during the camp. The camp was finally concluded on 23rd September 2015. Gokul Braz Foundation and Hari Om Group of Mumbai sponsored the traveling expenditure of the Doctors’ team. The Joint Director of Health Services, Baksa provided some essential medicines needed for the camp. The local public leaders and student and youth organizations supported the cause and the food and accommodation of the guest doctors were taken care of by EM Ganesh Kachary. The people of the area appreciated the noble cause executed by Vivekananda Kendra and assured all possible help for such camps in future.
