All India Spiritual Retreat was held in Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari from 25th January to 31st January 2014.  

As part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda, VK-nardep has taken up the renovation of the 16 sacred teerthams of Rameshwaram. This is the continuation of the report series of the progress of the project. As the Teerthams are getting revived they are now getting used by the community for both day today use and also for ritual purposes. Many of the Teerthams are also situated near the local village shrines – particularly sacred trees.

Many of our freedom fighters under the leadership of Gandhiji fought against the British rule and they got independence.

Vivekananda Kendra Project Arun Jyoti, (VKAJ) Aalo Branch successfully organized ‘Chale Gaon ki Aur’ programe braving against the cold waves at Mechuka from January 12 to 19.

A mammoth procession was convened to commemorate the 151th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Vallioor  on 11th January 2014. This is the first newsletter of 2014 and carries the activities of the last month of 2013. Here in continuation with the  150th year celebrations we present the views of Swami Vivekananda that form the philosophical basis of VK-nardep activities. Here Swami Vivekananda speaks about the organic unity of all life as fellow travellers in a cosmic odyssey.

Habung Asun brings laurel to the State:

The excellent performance of Km.Habung Asun of VKV- Shergaon in the National Level Children’s Science Congress at Bhopal brought laurels to the state as she has been included in the best 20 positions in the National Level out of 643 projects.

Pushpanjali at Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari on Concluding of Swami Vivekananda Sardh Shati Samaroh, which was started with Sankalp Diwas - 25-December-2012, the day when Swami Vivekananda started his 3 day-night meditation at Rock, Kanyakumari, Bharat.

Two days residential camp has been organised on 25-26 December 2013 at Harda, Madhyapradesh by Vivekananda Kendra.

The one day residential camp has been organised in vivekanand kendra karyayalaya, Harda (M.P.) on 26th December 2013. Among 13 resides there were 10 registered participants.

Camp start with reporting for trainees at 5 pm on 25th December, which is followed by Bhajan Sandhya and Parichay Satra. There were two Ganas - "Shaurya" & "Veer".

VKVs have occupied the chunk of the top positions in the State level Science Exhibition,2013 organized by Directorate of Secondary Education, GoAP in collaboration with NCERT, New Delhi held at the Govt.
