Many of our freedom fighters under the leadership of Gandhiji fought against the British rule and they got independence. The Indian assembly was formed under the presidentship of Dr.Rajendra Prasad and the Indian constitution was enacted on 26th November 1949,and the new constitution was adopted on 26th January 1950. India became republic on 26th January 1950.
On this auspicious occasion, the function started with an invocation song ‘Vande Matharam’ by our 7th & 8th std students.
Our special guest, Mananeeya Hanumantha Raoji,Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra hoisted the National Flag. The students sang our National Anthem. Next, Preethi of 8th std gave the pledge. Also, Preethi of IX std welcomed the audience of the programme. Music is a part of our life. The students of 7th and 8th std sang a sweet melodious Hindi song. Vaishnavi of VII std delivered the importance of this day.
‘A sound mind is a sound body’. The energetic students of V.K.V. performed some kattas. The students of 7th and 8th std sang a Tamil song praising Bharath Matha.
Next, the students of 9th and 11th std enacted a Tamil Drama about ‘Veera Baghath singh.’
Our honourable Chief guest Sri.B.V.Narayanan, Manager of Canara Bank, Kanyakumari addressed the audience about the importance of the day. He expressed his views about Swamiji’s thought ‘Arise Awake And stop Not Till the Goal Is Reached.’ He advised the students to respevt the teachers and elders. They should love the Motherland. He also talked about Gandhiji’s ahimsa otherwise called as Non-Violence and hisn patriotism towards the nation. He also advised the students to study well and to score good marks.
Our teacher Selvi.Bhavani read out the prize list of the winners of the E.A.competition. Next, our special guest,Mananeeya Hanumantha Raoji gave the memento to our Chief guest. Then,Arul Godsini of 8th std proposed the vote of thanks. Finally the programme concluded with the Kendra prayer and the sweets were distributed to everyone.
