This month is the month when Swami Vivekananda proclaimed his message of universal brotherhood at the World Parliament of Religions at Chicago. Underlying this message of universal human brotherhood is the larger message of solidarity with all existence - not just humans. This month we present an excerpt from Swami Vivekananda's lecture at Jaffna.
The Birthday of Dr Radhakrishnan, the former president of our country India, is celebrated as Teachers’ Day in order to highlight the specialty and greatness of the teachers and their works.

SAMARTHA Karyashala conducted on 27th July 2013 for the faculties of Vivekananda college, by VKK Nagerkoil. The Resource Person was Aa Krishnaswamiji. 86 faculties were there.
Vivekananda Kendra Kanniyakumari - Nagerkoil Branch Centre organised 7 days YOGA SATRA at Hindu College on 26th July 2013. The sessions were taken by Aa. Krishnaswamiji, Life Worker. There were Seventy Participants. It was inauguarated by Swa. Chaitanyanandaji, Vellimalai Ashram. By following up of Yoga Satra, Yoga Varga has started .
The twin festivals Gokulashtami and Rakshabandhan were celebrated with an intense fervour on 27th August in our school. The festival ceremony started at 11.00 a.m. in the presence of Mrs. Janaki Pushpam, Dist Incharge, RDP, Vivekananda Kendra. The programme was started by prayer song. One of our teacher Mrs.
1.“Sri Rama Jaya Rama” Mantra was chanted during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga Pooja and daily by our Balwadi school children, cultural class students and during monthly meetings by our Balwadi teachers and Social Workers. Every month nearly 5, 29,076 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities.
2. Through 73 Balwadis, 1,782 rural Children were nurtured. In all the Balwadis, Malt along with hygienically prepared highly nutritive lunch with vegetables was served during the day. And in the evening vitamin-rich cereals were provided to the children.
