Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor celebrated Vijaya Dashami & Vidyarambham on 12th October 2024 at the school’s Yoga Hall, from 10:45 a.m. to 12 noon. A total of 75 people, including 25 parents and 50 teachers, participated in the event.

Navaratri Golu:

Every year, Navaratri is celebrated grandly by VKV Vallioor. This year, as in previous years, a Golu (traditional display of dolls and figurines) was arranged at the school, prepared through the joint efforts of teachers and students. The Golu display was maintained for all ten days of the Navaratri & Vijaya Dashami celebrations.

Vijaya Dashami & Vidyarambham:

Vijaya Dashami was celebrated with the Vidyarambham ceremony on 12th October 2024 in an auspicious manner.

The event began with a prayer song led by Smt. P. Subha. Following this, the program officially commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sri Iyyappan Ji, the Secretary of VK-RDP; the Correspondent of the school, Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji; the Principal, Sri T. Muthukrishnanji; and parents. Teacher Smt. M. Subbulakshmi then welcomed the gathering and delivered a speech on the significance of Vidyarambham, highlighting its importance in shaping young minds and marking the beginning of their academic journey.

A puja was conducted, during which mantras were chanted by the priest, and all participants joined in with devotion. The Chief Guest, Sri Iyyappan Ji, delivered an inspirational speech about Swami Vivekananda and also referenced Ratan Tata’s service to the nation.

                        “Vidyadhanam Sarva Dhanam Pradhanam”

Later, the children participated in the Vidyarambham ceremony, guided by Chief Guest Sri Iyyappan Ji, Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji, and Sri T. Muthukrishnan Ji. The children wrote the sacred mantra “Om” in turmeric rice, symbolizing their initiation into learning. Parents participated with enthusiasm alongside their children. Teacher Smt. Muthumari delivered a vote of thanks.

The event concluded with the Kendra Prarthana. The celebration was a great success, marked by the active participation of students, parents, and staff.
