Swami Vivekananda’s Murti has been installed at Kaho, the first village of Bharat, located on the banks of the Lohit River in Arunachal Pradesh. This momentous event signifies Swami Vivekananda’s symbolic presence at both the southernmost tip of Bharat, where the Vivekananda Rock Memorial stands in Kanyakumari, and its north-easternmost boundary.

The journey of Swami Vivekananda’s Murti began on 28th January 2025 from the newly inaugurated Anandalaya Bhawan at Dibrugarh, Assam. Vivekananda Kendra, Arunachal Prant, organized the four-day Swami Vivekananda Yatra, carrying the Murti to its final destination, Kaho. The Yatra was inaugurated with Aarti and blessings from well-wishers and Karyakartas. Mananeeya Shri Bhanudasji Dhakras, All-India General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, performed Vaahan Puja and Pushpanjali to Swami Vivekananda along with more than 35 Karyakartas, marking the beginning of this historic journey.

As the Yatra progressed, it received a warm welcome at various locations. In Dibrugarh, over 25 Karyakartas from the VKVAPT Office joined in the celebrations. At Dirak Gate, Mahadevpur, the Nagar Karyakartas of Arun Jyoti, Mahadevpur welcomed Swamiji’s Murti along with JNV students at 11 AM. Around 50 Karyakartas led the procession to IB Mahadevpur, where the EAC of Mahadevpur performed Pushparpan. In Namsai, the Yatra was welcomed with a grand procession that included the band group from VKV Namsai, VKV Alumni, VK Namsai Karyakartas, and students from government schools. More than 250 students and Karyakartas participated, offering floral tributes to Swamiji.

At Chongkham Tinali, Vivekananda Kendra Wakro Nagar Karyakartas welcomed Swamiji’s Murti in the traditional Mishmi way. Around 40 Karyakartas and local residents participated in Pushparpanam, chanting slogans of "Amik Matai ki Jay!” The first day’s final stop was VKV Sunpura at 4 PM, where the procession was escorted by the VKV Sunpura Band. Villagers, led by ZPC and Gaon Bura, performed Aarti in reverence to Swamiji. A cultural program was organized by VKV students, featuring traditional dance and a drama based on Swamiji’s life. The Pushpanjali program saw the participation of Sunpura villagers, students, teachers, and VKV alumni.

On 31st January 2025, the final day of the Yatra, the journey commenced early in the morning from Hawai under the guidance of the Nagar Samiti of Hawai. As the Yatra moved ahead, it was warmly welcomed by the residents of Walong village, where 25 Karyakartas, along with soldiers of the armed forces, performed Aarati and offered flowers to Swamiji. The Murti was received with deep reverence by the owner of Dong Resort and the Chairman of the Meyor Society.

Upon reaching Kaho, the first village of Bharat, the Yatra was received with great enthusiasm by the Gaon Bura of Kaho Basti, ITBP personnel, and the Indian Army. A welcome address was delivered by the Chairman of the Meyor Community, recounting the vision that led to the installation of Swami Vivekananda’s Murti in Kaho. More than thirty soldiers and fifteen Karyakartas worked together to install the Murti at its designated location.

The Yatra concluded in Kaho on 31st January 2025, fulfilling the long-standing aspiration of the Kaho Basti residents to have Swami Vivekananda’s presence in their village, just as he is at the southern tip of Bharat. This historic installation stands as a beacon of inspiration, spreading Swami Vivekananda’s eternal message of self-less service, oneness, and national unity across the entire nation.
