Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Kerala Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vedic Vision Foundation, Kodungallur organized a Satsang to honor Swami Vivekananda's visit to Kodungallur during the last week of November 1892. The Satsang was held on December 2, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., which attracted a total of 35 attendees.
The program commenced with a prayer followed by an enlightening Satsangh Prabhashana delivered by the esteemed Professor and man of letters, Dr. P.V Krishnan Nair. With extensive experience in college-level teaching and a profound interest in the literary and cultural aspects of our country, Dr. Nair's lecture was exemplary. He meticulously traced India's history as witnessed by early travelers like Megasthenes, delving into the impressions of notable figures such as Romain Rolland, Max Muller, Western scientists, and philosophers. He substantiated his discourse by extensively quoting from Indian sources and citing studies by luminaries like Dr. Radhakrishnan, Sri Aurobindo, and Swami Vivekananda. Dr. Nair's eloquent lecture flowed akin to the Holy Ganges, captivating every listener's mind and heart. Despite the lecture's duration of more than an hour, the audience remained wholly engaged, absorbing the depth of India's greatness and the significance of its spiritual culture, which presently garners global attention.
Prior to Dr. P.V Krishnan Nair's discourse, Mananeeya Lakshmi Didi, who presided over the event, provided insights into Swami Vivekananda's visit to Kodungallur, emphasizing his interaction with the Royal Princesses and his meeting with Parama Bhattaraka Chattambi Swamigal. In the current milieu of overwhelming nonsensical political details, Dr. Nair's talk was a refreshing, enlightening, and enriching experience, reminding the audience of our Motherland's glory. The Satsang concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
