Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Odisha Prant, Jyoti Vibhag, Rourkela Branch, celebrated National Youth Day at Uditnagar Field with a Samuhik Surya Namaskar on 12th January 2024. The event began at 7 a.m. and saw the participation of 250 people.
The occasion was graced by esteemed Chief Guests, including Sri Shankar Tripathi Ji, Retired Principal of Ispat College; Sri Rama Krishna Gouda Ji, Junior Assistant Professor of Government College; Adharneeya Pratibha Chaitanya Maa; Sri Navo Kishore Ji; and Sri Ajay Kumar Mishra Ji.
For the first time, such a significant event was organized in the city (Rourkela) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The program commenced with an inspiring quotation from Swamiji, followed by the Deepa Prajwalan (lighting of the lamp). The organizers warmly welcomed all the Chief Guests with bouquets, and Sri Ajay Kumar Mishra Ji introduced them to the attendees.
The Samuhik Surya Namaskar began with a prayer, the Swadesh Mantra, and a song (geet). Participants from different parts of the city came together, contributing to the grand success of the event. The 250 participants included students from various colleges, grandparents, and children.
Simultaneously, a book stall was set up at the venue, offering a variety of inspiring books on Swami Vivekananda as well as patriotic, spiritual and cultural literature. Certificates and refreshments were provided to all participants.
