Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vallioor organized a Gurupurnima program on the school premises on 24th July 2024, starting at 10.30 a.m. A total of 865 students and 25 parents actively participated in the event.
Smt. Santhanamari, the President of Seelathikulam Panchayat, graced the program as the Chief Guest, along with Sri S.K. Subramanian Ji, Correspondent of VKV MHSS, Vallioor, and the Principal, Sri Muthukrishnan, on the dais.
The program began with a prayer by the school choir group, followed by the dignitaries lighting the lamp to inaugurate the event. A warm welcome address was delivered by one of the students. The program featured a classical dance performance by the students, which was a visual delight. Students also delivered speeches about the importance of Gurupurnima in both English and Tamil.
The Principal honored the Chief Guest by presenting a memento. In her address, the Chief Guest, Smt. Santhanamari, appreciated the service activities of Vivekananda Kendra. Teacher Smt. Subbulakshmi read out a letter from Mananeeya Nivedita Didi on Gurupurnima. The students performed puja for their teachers and received their blessings. A student delivered the vote of thanks.
The program concluded with the Kendra Prarthana, and sweets were distributed to all attendees. Parents expressed their happiness in being part of the celebration.
