Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamilnadu Vibhag, Vivekananda Kendra Natural Resources Development Project (VK-NARDEP) performed Bhoomi Puja for starting the renovation work of Simha Theertham at Rameswaram on 10th August 2023.
‘Green Rameswaram’, a visionary initiative by VK-NARDEP, was inaugurated by the revered Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, on 28th January 2014. Under this project, VK NARDEP has dedicated its efforts to the meticulous restoration of traditional water bodies, with a special emphasis on Rameswaram's sacred Theerthams. These water bodies hold ecological and spiritual significance, bridging the gap between nature and culture.
The renovation of the work of Simha Theertham is also being carried out under the ‘Green Rameswaram’ project of VK-NARDEP.
