A five days “Karyakarta Prashikshan Shivir” (Volunteers’ Training Camp) was organised by Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari’s Panchkula Branch during 20th to 25th June 2014 at New India Smart School, Sector 15, Panchkula. Karyakartas from Panchkula, Chandigarh, Ambala, Rewari and also from Amritsar, Ludhiana and Solan participated. In all 16 participants (12 brothers & 4 Sisters) took training of Sanskar Varg (Value Education Class)and take resolve to start it in their localities.
The Camp was inaugurated by Dr. Suvikram Jyoti, renowned ophthalmologist and Nagar Sanyojak of Vivekananda Kendra Panchkula branch. Smt. Padmesh Baweja (retd. Principal of SD Maruti Sr.Sec.School, Nilokheri) was Shivir Adhikari. Lf.Col.Suresh Sharma shared his experiences of army life especially at Siachin which inspired the participants and also increased the respect for Indian soldiers.
Shri. Manash Bhattacharjee, Joint Secretary, VIF, New Delhi (Vivekananda International Foundation) spoke on “Ma Bharati – Veeron Ki Janani” – how Mother India have produced such heroes who had given themselves for the good of the people. Now it’s our duty to carry on their work by doing selection between good & good.
Smt. Kalpana Mehta, IT Sangathak of Vivekananda Kendra and Nagar Sangathak of Shimla explain how a small boy Narendra transformed in to the cyclonic monk of India – Swami Vivekananda. How he faced all the odds and brought glory to our Motherland.
“Chunautiya aur Samadhan” (Challenges & Response)was the topic explained by Mananeeya Rekha Davey ji, All India Joint General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra. She also threw light on need of organised work and the work of Vivekananda Kendra.
Dr. Rajbeer Dabur, Principal of Brahmananda Public School, Karnal and Vivekananda Kendra Haryana prant’s Prashikshan Pramukh told the story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial – the success story.
Shri. Amit Dashora, Lecturer at Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi, shared some stories of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, founder of Vivekananda Rock Memorial & Vivekananda Kendra.
Camp participants day was starting at 5.30am and ending at 10pm. Pratahsmaran [Morning Prayer] followed by yogabhyasa, shramsanskar, lectures, group discussions, practical interactive session, evening Sanskar Varg, Bhajansandhya and night assembly were the session of the days.
On 22nd June 2014, in the leadership of Shri. Shubhasis ji, team members of PNA – The Puppet Theatre Chandigarh, taught techniques of drama and participants presented skits on the life of Swami Vivekananda.
Shri Sumanto Ghosh, Smt. Shipra Ghosh, Shri Vivek Dubey, Smt. Raji Rajlakshmi, Smt. Archana Surendra Yadav, Dr. Manisha Modi, Sri. & Smt. Parmjeet ji, Smt. Shiffu Jindal and many more karyakartas joined hands to organise this camp. Shri. K.K.Gupta ji supported by giving their school campus for the camp.
In the concluding programme on 25th June 2014, participants expressed the positive change they could experience in themselves. Shivir Adhikari Smt. Padmesh Baweja ji, gave aashirvaad to all the participants and Kum. Alakagauri, Prant Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra Punjab & Haryana, guided the participants how to continue the efforts to manifest the potential in ourselves. The first ever Karyakarta Prashikshan Shivir of Vivekananda Kendra for Punjab & Haryana was then concluded with Kendra Prarthana.
