JBM-Vivekananda Kendra Hospital, Shuklai, BTAD, Assam recently organized one Free Surgery Camp in association with Remote Area Medical Corp.USA (RAM). Two Surgeons from RAM, Dr.Gangadhar Maddiwar and Dr.Qutub Nadaf attended the camp. Dr.Monoj Talukdar, Anesthesiologist from Marwari Charitable Hospital, Guwahati and Dr.Rajiv Baruah, Anesthesiologist from Shivsagar Civil Hospital assisted the Surgeons. Dr.Udayaditya Rajkowor, Surgeon from Sonari Sub-Divisional Hospital, Sonari also joined voluntarily in the camp. The camp was inaugurated by Sri Ganesh Kachari, Executive Member of Bodoland on 23rd Sept2013. A total 45 patients registered their names and primary screenings were done by our Doctors. During this camp we operated 42 patients for various ailments like Gall Bladder Stones, Appendicitis, Inguinal Hernia, Lipoma etc. We conducted 11 Cholecysectomies, 12 Hernioplasties, 1 Mastectomy, 1 Appendectomy and 24 excisions for lumps and bumps including multiple lymphomas etc.
The concluding function on 29th Sept.2013 was attended by Dr. Bidyut Goswami,Chairman,JBM-Vivekananda Hospital,Shuklai and Sri Ganesh Kachari,EM,BTC. In this brief meeting all the Doctors shared their experiences. Sri Romen Chakrabory, Secretary, JBM-Vivekananda Kendra Hospital, Shuklai thanked all the Doctors for their voluntary participation and requested them to come again to serve the poor and needy.
