Inculcate ideas of Swami Vivekananda: Dr Begi


ITANAGAR, Jan 12: Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar celebrated the National Youth Day cum 149th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with a cultural event at VKV Chimpu.


While inaugurating the programme, Dr. Joram Begi, Director of Higher and technical education and the Prant Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra advised the youth of Arunachal Pradesh to study and inculcate the idea of Swami Vivekananda in their life.


Dr. Joram Begi upheld the role of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh for providing quality education. He complemented the students and teachers for their dedicated hard work. He said that Swami Vivekananda inspired not only freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose but continues to do so till date.


S. C. Dixit, Principal of VKV Itanagar and Rupesh Mathur, State Organizing Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Arunachal Pradesh, also attended the occasion. The Uniqueness of the programme was the cultural items presented by the students. Drama depicting the life of Swamiji, the folk songs of Arunachal Pradesh, Patriotic songs, Sanskrit songs were performed by the students of primary and middle classes. About 800 parents and students attended the programme.

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti, Pasighat today organized a Personality Development Camp on the auspicious occasion of 149th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Pasighat. 50 children took part in the programme. The children were from Gandhi Secondary School, D. Ering Memorial School, Government School, Balek and I G J Government School, Pasighat.


Vijay Taram, an Alumini of VKV and also a known Social Worker from the area took a session on “Leadership”.


Students and faculties of VKV, Vivek Vihar, took out a procession highlighting the vision and mission of Swami Vivekananda for “Man making and Nation building’ in morning hours today to mark the occasion.


Later, an APSC cadre of 2003 Viswadeep Chello urged the parents to be inspired by the ideology of Swamiji.


Dr V N Sharma, Liaison officer, NSS, called upon the students to identify their potentiality. More than 500 children and parents took part in the programme. Vivekananda Kendra, Arun Jyoti, Itanagar  also Celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s  Birth Anniversary at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. - 1, Naharlagun. The main speaker was Radhilu Chai, Vice Chairperson of Women Commission, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. She highlighted the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. Later she distributed prize to winners of literary competition.


Kumari Neha Tiwari of Higher Secondary Schools , Naharlagun, Linbum Tama of K. V. 1 and Suraj Chakraborty of Govt. Hr. Sec. school polo colony came first, second & third in written Competition respectively.


In Speech Competition the Byabang Mekia and Gracy Hingbo of Govt. Hr. Sec. school polo colony were first and second respectively whereas Rohan Shretha of K. V. – 1 was third. Around 1000 students participated in the programme.


Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Basar celebrated the national youth day with pomp and fervor today.


Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress General Secretary Marpin Basar and Tomi Polytechnic College Basar, Vice Principal Arul Kumar spoke on the occasion.


Besides the students’ of VKV, Students of various government schools also displayed cultural programme during the day long celebration.


Lower Dibang Valley District Headquarter joints rest of the country in celebrating 149th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day. Prabhatperry followed by drama on life of Vivekananda, patriotic songs & dances and traditional dances at General Play Ground by various schools marked the occasion. The programme was organized by Vivekanda Vidhyalaya, Roing supported by the Department of School Education, Lower Dibang Valley District.


Attending the function, Laeta Umbrey, MLA Roing said that Swami Vivekananda was an embodiment of Indian Culture and a great spiritual Guru of India. His work and knowledge is an inspiration for youth of all ages to attain greater heights in life. He informed that this day is being celebrated as National Yoputh Day since the year 1985 by the Govt. of India for paying homage to Swamiji’s ideals and works.


Umbrey appealed each and every one to rededicate ourselves for the peace and security for the people of the district in order to create a conducive atmosphere for the children to devote their time and energy in learning.


Deputy Commissioner Garima Gupta exhorted the youths to adopt the teaching of Swami Vivekananda by taking education as the baseline of their life and to help in building a strong nation. She also exhorted them to help those in needs that was taught and practice by their Guru.


Rita Raj Shukla, Principal VKV Roing threw lights on the life of Vivekananda. Gobind Khandekar, Karyakarta VKV and Ayodhya Prasad, Teacher, GHSS Roing also spoke on the occasion. Chiliko Meto, Zilla Parishad Chairperson, Senior Citizens, Public Leader, HoDs teachers and students attended to witness the celebration.


The members of Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC) distributed fruits to the indoor patients of General Hospital, Naharlagun on the occasion.
