SRI EKNATHJI RANADE’S BIRTHDAY AND FINAL DAY OF SCIENCE AND ARTS EXHIBITION – 19TH NOV
A chosen and gifted son of Bharatmata,
a great soul- a selfless patriot and a fearless fighter, a great man-
maker and an equally great Nation Builder- Mananeeya Sri Eknathji
Ranade. His 98th birthday and the final day of Science and arts
exhibition was celebrated in VKV, Kanyakumari on 19th Nov. 2011 at 2.30 pm.
The
function was inaugurated by prayer song sung by 5th Std students. The
gathering was welcomed by Geethai Kesav Vennih of XI Std. This was
followed by the song sung by the winner of music competition in the
primary level. The importance of the day was portrayed in Tamil by
Sahaya Precy of IX Std. After this audience were pleased by a Hindi song
sung by students of VII Std. Then there was the speech by the winner of
elocution competition and a song by the winner of music competition in
the secondary level.There were two chief guests who made this function a colourful one.
Chief guest Shri. R.S. Sundar, Station Director of KKNPP gave a thought
provoking speech, which gave inspiration for the students. He quoted
Swamiji’s saying- “If you ever feel afraid of anything, always turn around and face it. Never think of running away.”Another chief guest Shri. S. Kalirajan, Additional Chief Engineer,
interacted with the students and motivated them to perform well in their
school life.
Prizes were distributed by both the chief guests to the winner’s of
Children’s day competitions. Both the guests were honoured by presenting
memento. Vote of thanks was proposed by Arun of IX std. Finally the
celebration was concluded by Kendra prarthana.
