Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, West-Bengal Prant, Eknath-Vibhag organized a one-day Youth Convention at the prayer hall of Vivekananda Kendra Kolkata Karyalaya in Bidhan Sarani on 5th May 2024. A total of 15 people enthusiastically took part in this event. The organizing team of the dedicated Karyakartas was led by Sri Joydeep Dasgupta Ji.

The event commenced with a prayer and a welcome address, followed by sharing key guidelines for the day's activities. The Convention featured engaging sessions aimed at participants' holistic personality development. They learned about Vivekananda Kendra's work and its service activities across Bharat. Su Kathakali Bhattacharya Didi, a Jeevanvrati Karyakarta of Vivekananda Kendra, conducted a session on the significance of prayers. This was followed by sessions on leadership skills through interactive games and the nuances of personality development.

Su Moumita Bhattacharya didi's Geet session filled the atmosphere with melody, elevating the spirits of the participants. They also learned concentration techniques through a session conducted by Su Kathakali Bhattacharya didi. The narrative of the Vivekananda Rock Memorial by Smt. Malavika Ganguly illustrated the essence of determination and collective effort in achieving monumental goals, inspiring the participants.

In today's digital age, understanding the responsible use of the internet and social media is crucial. Sri Joydeep Dasgupta Ji shed light on this, emphasizing ethical conduct and mindful engagement online. This was followed by a session addressing fears and anxieties by Sri Subrata Mondal Ji, providing practical strategies for overcoming obstacles and fostering resilience and self-assurance among the youth.

Group discussions and presentations on learning outcomes facilitated collective learning and reflection, consolidating the day’s insights. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri. Tarun Jana Ji, acknowledging the contributions of all involved in making the convention a resounding success.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit Swami Vivekananda’s ancestral house in Simla Street, a pilgrimage to the roots of inspiration. Esteemed guests Mananeeya Sri Pravinji Dabholkar, All India Treasurer of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, and VK Prashimbanga Prant Pramukh, Smt. Malavika Ganguly graced the occasion.

The participants expressed their eagerness to partake in future programs organized by Vivekananda Kendra. The success of this Youth Convention is a testament to the lasting legacy of Swami Vivekananda’s ideals.
