As a part of International Day of Yoga Celebrations, Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Keralam Prant, Thiruvananthapuram Branch organized a structured yoga programme at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vazhuthacaud on 17th June 2026, the event drew a total of 49 enthusiastic participants, comprising 40 students, 6 staff members, and 3 karyakartas.
The event commenced auspiciously with the Deepa Prajjwalan and the chanting of the Aaikya Mantra. Addressing the gathering, Aadaraneeya Radha Didi, Tamil Nadu and Keralam Prant Sangathak, Vivekananda Kendra emphasized the profound link between a healthy body and a positive, concentrated mind as the ultimate key to success.
Highlighting the cultural and artistic essence of the discipline, the school students delivered a beautiful and captivating dance performance based on yoga.
The practical session was comprehensive, guiding through essential loosening exercises, standing, sitting, prone, and supine asanas, followed by pranayama, meditation, Omkara chanting, and the Sankalpam.
The successful conduct of the programme was heavily supported by Kum. Kalyani Didi and Kum. Priyamvada Didi, who actively guided and encouraged the students through their preparatory practice sessions.
The event concluded with the collective chanting of the Shanti Mantra.
