Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Madurai Branch, organized a series of impactful events to celebrate Samartha Bharat Parva and National Youth Day from 9th to 11th January, 2025. A total of 247 people participated in the programs held at 3 locations.
These programs aimed to highlight Bharat’s strengths across various fields and to motivate the youth to actively contribute to the nation’s regeneration.
1. Sourashtra College, Madurai (9th January 2025, 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
The first event took place at Sourashtra College, where Smt. Lakshmi Narayani Akka delivered an insightful and thought-provoking talk on the Samartha Bharat Parva. Her presentation focused on Bharat’s historical contributions to various fields, emphasizing the nation’s strength and resilience through the ages. The session highlighted the vital role of youth power in shaping the future of India, and was well-received by the 40 participating students.
2. Madurai Institute of Social Sciences (10th January 2025, 9 AM – 10:35 AM)
On the second day, at the Madurai Institute of Social Sciences, Sri. Rajasekhar Ji, Sahitya Seva Paramukh of VK Madurai presented a compelling session on the Samartha Bharat Parva. The focus of this presentation was on showcasing the visible strength of Bharat and how the youth can contribute to furthering these strengths in the modern era. He emphasized India’s capabilities in various sectors, from science and technology to culture and heritage, and urged students to harness their potential for national development. This session was attended by 47 students.
3. Thiagarajar College, Madurai (11th January 2025, 9 AM – 10:15 AM)
The final program was held at Thiagarajar College, Teppakulam where Smt. Lakshmi Narayani Akka once again captivated the audience with a deep and inspiring talk on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. Her speech explored why Swamiji placed his faith in the youth, highlighting how his life and actions from a young age set a powerful example for today’s generation. She encouraged students to work for society as a means to realize their full potential, drawing from personal anecdotes and motivational stories from Swamiji’s life. The session was impactful for the 160 students from the NCC Army Infantry Division at Thiagarajar College, who were highly engaged throughout the program.
These programs served as an excellent platform for students to reflect on their role in the nation’s future and to understand the importance of their contributions.
The organizing team, including Shri.Prabhakaran Anna, Nagar Pramukh, Shri. Rajasekaran Anna, Sahitya Seva Pramukh, Shri.Thirupathi Anna, Yuva Pramukh, Smt. Lakshmi Narayani Akka, Mahila Yoga Varga Pramukh, Shri. Bala Surya, Sah Karyapaddati Pramukh, Shri. Suresh, Sanksar varga sampark pramukh and Kum. Sumitra Didi, Tamil Nadu Vibhag Pravasi Karyakartha felt that the event had met their objectives of motivating the youth and promoting the ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
