“Ramayan Darshan” – a pictorial Exhibition on the Ramayan, our National Epic, is coming up at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari – the town where Swami Vivekananda meditated. The Exhibition through its 108 panels will depict important episodes from Ramayana and will have a 27 feet tall statue of Hanuman in front.

“Teaching of Vivekananda would help us to decipher the universal consciousness”, said Sri Dattatreya Hosabale, Sah-Sarkaryawah of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as Guest of Honour in the Inaugural Function of International Youth Conference on Youth for Integral Humanism, the first conference of its kind to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’ s 150th birth anniversary (1863-2013) at Pantnagar.

A meeting of doctors of Tinsukia who are our parents/Alumni with a  team of 6 members of NRI (Non-resident Indians)  Doctors led by Dr. Gangadhar Maddiwar,  Volunteer of Remote Area medicals(RAM) from USA was organised in VKV Tinsukia on 11 Feb 2012 at 5.00pm. The purpose of the meeting was said by Dr. Debaishs Dey Adhikari, ( Coordinator ), to start  free medical activities in Tinsukia district and in the State of ASSAM. Dr. Maddiwar through a Video Clip shared the services his team has rendered in different parts of the world with the purpose of helping poor people. The proposal to start the Free Medical Service has been discussed to commemorate with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

A visit to the 21 Red Horns Signals Division Rangiya unit has invited our school to celebrate together the 101 Raising day of the Unit. All 50 students along with the 4 teachers had reported the unit at 10 am morning. The unit had sent school bus to pick up the students from the school. The band troupe with some girls from class VIII had gone to the Rangiya unit.

How do we define Bravery? Is it simply about accomplishing the impossible or is it showing no fear of dangerous situations?This poem gives an idea about bravery:

“Some think bravery is living without fear 

But that is not true

Bravery is living despite the fear

Even though you’re scared to death”

The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them- danger, death etc. and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it. Our country has produced galaxies of brave sons and daughters.

Class 10 and Class 12 students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Jairampur performed Matri Puja on 4th February 2012. The parents included teachers of Govt.schools and prominent personalities of Jairampur. All were happy to see their own children moved highly by the preparatory speech given by Kum B Radha Devi, Joint Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh.

The Matri Puja was conducted in VKV Kharsang on 5th February 2012. 47 out of 50 students of class 10 performed the Puja to their mothers. The 90 minutes long programme ended with sharing of experience by the parents and students.
