As a fitting and living tribute to Swami Vivekananda in this year of national celebrations of his 150th birth anniversary, Vivekananda Kendra-nardep inaugurated the renovation and revival of selected Teerthams of the holy island of Rameshwaram on January 27th 2013. It was the day of arrival of Swami Vivekananda to Rameshwaram in 1897, after his triumphant visit to the West.

a) Cultural examinations were conducted on Swami Vivekananda’s Life and Message at 28 colleges in Mangalore District, 982 students wrote the examination.

How do we define Bravery? Is it simply about accomplishing the impossible or is it showing no fear of dangerous situations?This poem gives an idea about bravery:
“Some think bravery is living without fear
But that is not true
Bravery is living despite the fear
Even though you’re scared to death”
The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them- danger, death etc. and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it. Our country has produced galaxies of brave sons and daughters.
Class 10 and Class 12 students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Jairampur performed Matri Puja on 4th February 2012. The parents included teachers of Govt.schools and prominent personalities of Jairampur. All were happy to see their own children moved highly by the preparatory speech given by Kum B Radha Devi, Joint Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas Arunachal Pradesh.
The Matri Puja was conducted in VKV Kharsang on 5th February 2012. 47 out of 50 students of class 10 performed the Puja to their mothers. The 90 minutes long programme ended with sharing of experience by the parents and students.
