Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, the Rural College Mahavidyalayasthan organized an event titled “Yodha Namana” to pay tribute to the martyr Captain Sri MV Pranjal on his birth anniversary on 18th July 2024. The program was held at The Rural College, Kanakapura, one of the Mahavidyalayasthans in Karnataka. 100 students participated in the programme.

Captain MV Pranjal, an Indian Army soldier from Bangalore, was martyred during the Rajouri Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir on 22nd November 2023. This event was organized in his remembrance.

The program started with a prayer followed by the patriotic song "Mate Poojaka" sung by Smt. Soumya, coordinator of Vivekananda Chintana Vedhike at the Mahavidyalayasthan. After Deepa Prajwalan (lighting the lamp), Pushparpana were performed by all attendees.

Sri Gadigeppa Hitalmani, the Principal of the college, welcomed the gathering. Sri Aravinda ji, Jeevan-vratti Karyakartha of Vivekananda Kendra, addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of farmers, soldiers, and teachers, and explaining why people remember Swami Vivekananda and Sri Kariyappa ji, the founder of The Rural College.

Smt. Anuradha Didi, the mother of Capt. Pranjal, remembered her son, shared valuable information about the Indian Army, and sang the “Yodha Geete” (written by herself). Following her, Sri Venkatesh ji, the father of Capt. Pranjal, motivated students with his speech.

The participants left with a renewed sense of patriotism and respect for the sacrifices made by soldiers like Captain Pranjal. The event not only honored a brave soul but also inspired the attendees to contribute positively to society in their own capacities.
