Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Tamil Nadu Vibhag, Natural Resources Development Project (VK-NARDEP) launched “Vasudhā” (meaning The Mother Earth), an experiential digital exhibition on sustainable living. This innovative, cloud-based interactive exhibition combines stunning motion graphics and explanatory videos to engage visitors and impart knowledge on four key aspects: understanding the relationship between humanity and nature, identifying today’s environmental challenges, presenting holistic solutions, and sharing actionable tips for individuals to contribute to saving the planet.

The exhibition features four large video monitors showcasing content in Tamil, English, and Hindi. Alongside, ten vertical digital display monitors provide captivating motion graphics and videos, offering an engaging experience that motivates visitors to adopt sustainable practices in their everyday lives.

Located adjacent to Bharat Mata Sadanam in Ramayana Darshanam, Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari, the exhibition was officially inaugurated on National Youth Day, 12th January 2025, at 9:30 AM in the Hall of Bharat Mata Sadanam.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Goura Kishore Nanda Ji, Company Secretary of BrahMos Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi, as the chief guest. Dr. Indumathi M. Nambi, Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Madras, attended as the guest of honor, while Mananeeya Shri A. Balakrishnan Ji, All-India President of VRM & VK, presided over the event. The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp (Deepa Prajwalan), by the dignitaries, symbolizing an auspicious start. This was followed by the formal unveiling of Vasudhā, which is a state-of-the-art initiative designed to promote the message of sustainable living.

The event featured a welcome address by Shri Raghunandan Ji, who set the tone for the occasion. Shri Dilip Kulkarni Ji, a well-wisher of VK-NARDEP, shared insights into the journey of conceptualizing and realizing Vasudhā, emphasizing the dedication and effort involved in its creation. Adharneeya Shri Vasudeo Ji, Prakalpa Sangatak of VK-NARDEP, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the exhibition. He presented mementos to the contributors, acknowledging their invaluable efforts. A promotional video provided an overview of Vasudhā’s vision and unique features, while the official website: www.Vasudhāindia.in , was launched during the event, ensuring the exhibition’s message reaches a broader audience and offering online access to its resources.

Shri Goura Kishore Nanda Ji inaugurated the exhibition and highlighted the critical need for sustainable practices in modern life. Dr. Indumathi M. Nambi delivered an insightful speech, focusing on innovative approaches to sustainability. Mananeeya Shri A. Balakrishnan Ji inspired the audience by urging actionable steps toward environmental conservation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mananeeya Kum. Rekha Davey Didi, All-India Joint General Secretary of VRM & VK, expressing gratitude to all participants, contributors, and attendees.

The inauguration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 people, including VK-NARDEP well-wishers, college students, members of the public, and tourists. The launch of Vasudhā marked a significant step toward promoting cultural and environmental responsibility, aligning with Vivekananda Kendra’s commitment to fostering sustainable living practices and preserving values for future generations.
