Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Dakshin Prant, Karnataka Vibhag, Mysore Branch, organized a Universal Brotherhood Day programme at the Kendra Karyalaya in Jayanagar on 15th September 2024, with a total of 23 people in attendance.
Universal Brotherhood Day, celebrated annually on September 11, commemorates the profound message of Universal Brotherhood delivered by Swami Vivekananda at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893. It is one of the five Utsavas celebrated by Vivekananda Kendra across all its branches in Bharat.
Sri G. A. Chandrashekar ji, Sri Laxminarayan ji, and Smt. Sunanda Didi graced the occasion as Chief Guests. The program began with a prayer, followed by the song ‘Sri Vivekananda Guruvara.’ Sri Chandrashekar ji taught the song to the attendees and spoke about the significance of Universal Brotherhood Day. He also gave his valuable guidance to the students.
Prizes were awarded to students who participated and won in the inter-school cultural competitions organized as part of the Universal Brotherhood Day celebrations. The program concluded with the Shanti Mantra.
